John Cena Would Love To Make A Sequel To Bumblebee

John Cena had a blast making Bumblebee, and director Travis Knight's film is earning praise from many fans as the best Transformers movie to date. So when CinemaBlend's own Dirk Libbey asked Cena if his Jack Burns would return for a sequel, the action star had this to say:

I hope so. I really enjoyed working with Travis, but I love the movie and it looks like it's going to make a lot of money too, so hopefully we'll be able to do it again.

The signs are looking pretty positive for a seventh film in the live-action Transformers film series. Bumblebee is a prequel to Transformers, and director Travis Knight has already revealed he has more ideas for Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) and Bee, should Bumblebee 2 come to pass.

When asked what he'd like to see his character do in a sequel, John Cena kept it humble:

Oh, I'm not, I'm not selfish in that regard. The one thing I'd like to see is that it be just as good of a story. I think if I get too involved with what I'm doing rather than what the movie is doing, the movie suffers. I think as long as the movie reads as good as Bumblebee then we'll be off to a good start.

Without spoiling anything, his Agent Burns had a bit of a change of heart by the end of Bumblebee, and there's an opportunity to show more sides to the character.

Really, though, Bumblebee 2 might be the perfect opportunity to fulfill John Cena's dream of transforming into a John-a-Tron.

In terms of the response to the movie, Bumblebee was a hit with critics, and currently enjoys a very impressive 93 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It earned an A- CinemaScore from polled moviegoers, which has to make the cast proud. It just opened on December 21, but so far the film has made just shy of $200 million off its reported production budget of $135 million. The opening was on the low end for a Transformers movie, but Bumblebee also opened on fewer screens than the previous five films, as Box Office Mojo figures show.

John Cena is a pretty busy guy. He had a big 2018 at the movies, with Blockers and Bumblebee, and he's pitched himself to take over as Captain America, should Marvel be interested. The previous year, Cena had The Wall, Daddy's Home 2, and the voice of Ferdinand in that animated movie. He still lends his voice to Baron Draxum on Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and he's also meant to voice Yoshi the polar bear in Robert Downey Jr.'s 2020 film The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle.

But now we know John Cena is 100% down to make time for Bumblebee 2, if there's a place for him in the story. Sounds like Travis Knight knows what he wants, so we just have to stay tuned and see what happens from here. Henry Cavill Believes Tom Cruise's Injury Was Actually A Good Thing For Mission: Impossible Fallout

When Tom Cruise broke his ankle in gruesome fashion while filming a stunt last year on Mission: Impossible Fallout, it seemed like a huge blow to the film. With the star out of commission, production was temporarily shut down, and from the outside looking in, it seemed like getting this film to hit its release date and deliver in the way it was expected to was the real impossible mission. Yet as it turned out, Tom Cruise's injury was actually a good thing for Mission: Impossible Fallout because it gave everyone a much-needed break, as star Henry Cavill explained:

I don't know how many months in it was, but we were all knackered at that stage. So when the break happened, literally, and then the hiatus, we just went, 'You know what it's not a bad time to recoup and we can just rest up a bit, make sure everything's perfect and come back.' And we did. It was good and worked really in our favor.

So the seven-week break in production was a good thing because it allowed for everyone to get some much needed rest, although I imagine Tom Cruise wasn't thrilled about it at the time. It is kind of funny to think that everyone else was tired and thankful for the break, while Tom Cruise completed the shot and then proceeded to work like a madman to rehab himself and heal at an incredible rate to get back to filming. Although judging by the relentless action in the trailers for the film, I imagine that filming Mission: Impossible Fallout was an exhausting experience, so the reprieve must have truly been a blessing in disguise. That way everyone was able to come back fresh and ready to go when production resumed.

Time for the cast to catch their breath wasn't the only benefit of the production shutdown due to Tom Cruise's gnarly injury. Director Christopher McQuarrie explained to CinemaBlend that there were still parts of the script that they were struggling with, and the extra time allowed for those issues to be ironed out to make for a better film. Post-production was also moved up, so the cast and crew was able to see a lot of what they had already, which helped to inform how the rest of the film was shot when things picked up again. As Henry Cavill told Metro, the break allowed them to make sure everything was perfect.

This might all seem like lip service to put a positive spin on a bad situation, but the results apparently speak for themselves onscreen. Not only is the film meeting its release date, but the reviews are in and Mission: Impossible Fallout seems to live up to the hype, continuing to elevate this always-improving franchise. This worked out so well that maybe they should just build a break into the schedule for the next film in the franchise and hope that Tom Cruise doesn't suffer any more literal ones.

How Killmonger Would Do In A Fight With Thanos, According To Michael B. Jordan

Warning: SPOILERS to follow for Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther!

Marvel's onscreen villains have often been criticized for being unmemorable, but you wouldn't know that from the studio's two biggest releases in 2018. Black Panther's Killmonger was played by Michael B. Jordan with pathos and fury, and Avengers: Infinity War's Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, delivered a villain that lived up to years of hype. So what would happen if these two ever came up against one another? This might seem like an easy win for the Mad Titan, but Killmonger might have a few tricks up his sleeve, as Michael B. Jordan explained:

I think the one thing about Killmonger is he really plans his attacks, and they're well thought out. So if he ever stepped in a situation with Thanos, he would feel confident that he had the upper hand---at the very least, he would know he had a shot. So I mean, we already know that Erik's willing to sacrifice himself for a greater good, so I don't think he's ever fearful of losing his life. So I think if he ever stepped in front of Thanos, he'd already have a plan for taking him down.

In Black Panther, we saw that Killmonger, for all his rage, is actually very cold and calculating. He had a plan and he executed it with ruthless efficiency. And as Michael B. Jordan told The A.V. Club, Killmonger is confident and willing to put himself on the line to achieve his goals, and the importance of confidence going in to a fight can't be understated. So going in to a battle with Thanos, Killmonger would be sure to have a plan of attack, and that's the key.

We saw in Avengers: Infinity War that a well-crafted plan has the potential to take down Thanos. Spider-Man almost had the gauntlet off of his hand when Peter Quill blew the game. But you could see from that scene that a solid strategy where everyone is on the same page could be what is needed to defeat the Mad Titan. Even with a clever plan and his trademark brutality, Killmonger would still be a massive underdog in this fight. Thanos beat Hulk to a pulp, Iron Man's suit wasn't strong enough and Cap's combat skills fell short, so even with a great mental game, Killmonger would be physically overmatched. That's all pre-complete gauntlet though. As long as that gauntlet is on Thanos' hand with a full complement of stones, victory will not be achieved.

Although Thanos and Killmonger are both villains, it actually would make sense for the exiled Wakandan to want to defeat the Titan. Killmonger (ne N'Jadaka) is all about saving his people from oppression, but Thanos' snap is doesn't discriminate, wiping out everyone equally. So to save his people, Killmonger would have to save all peoples. However, unless they play with time or some alternate reality or resurrection shenanigans to bring Killmonger back to life, this battle will have to play out in our minds.

Anyone wanting to scout game tape on Thanos and come up with a plan of attack can rewatch Avengers: Infinity War when it hits digital on tomorrow (July 31) and 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on August 14, complete with deleted scenes.
